Whiskey Sour

Whiskey Sour
Whiskey Sour
Probably the most famous and most known sour cocktail, the Whiskey Sour. Even if you don’t like whiskey! You can make the whiskey sour off course with your own favorite whiskey brand.

What do you need for a Whiskey Sour?

Whiskey (1,5 part)
Sugar syrup (2 bar spons)
Lemon juice (juice of half a lemon)
Egg white (1/2)
Cocktail cherry

1 part = 30 ml

For this cocktail we are going to use a shaker with ice and a tumbler glass filled with crushed ice. First start with adding the fresh lemon juice, whiskey, sugar syrup into the shaker. Now add just half of the egg white of half an egg. Too much egg white gives the sour an less good taste (you don’t need to taste the egg, we only use it to give the cocktail a small foam). Give this a good shake for about ten seconds. Pour out the cocktail into your tumbler glass with a strainer. For garnish add an cocktail cherry or lemon slice.

Sour variations

It’s very easy to variate with sour cocktails. My personal favorite is the Amaretto Sour. But for Bart it’s the Drambuie Sour. You can also variate with Licor 43, Frangelico or other liquors. You like red wine? Try the New York Sour also!
