Scroppino
This cocktail is perfect for summer as well winter times. In the summer it’s a refreshing cocktail on a hot summer day. In the winter, perfect as an dessert of fancy aperitif for a fancy dinner with friends and family. The elegant looks and full taste make the Scroppino a perfect cocktail for all occasions.

What do you need for a Scroppino?

Vodka (1 part)
Prosecco (2 parts)
Lemon sorbet ice-cream (2 scoops)

1 part = 30 ml

How do you maken a Scroppino?

For the Scroppino cocktail we use a lot of lemon sorbet ice-cream (two scoops per glass). This gives the cocktail it’s distinctive full structure and creamy taste. Add 1 part vodka and 2 parts prosecco to the blender and blend them into a light and frothy whole. When you use too much prosecco in the cocktail creamy ice-cream flavour dissapears and the prosecco dominates. That’s something you need to prevent. Serve the Scroppino in a chilled champagne or martini glas. Because of the foam, the champagne glass is my personal favorite to serve the cocktail. Finishing touch, garnish the scroppino with a lemontwist in the glass.

Nice to know: The scroppino has it’s origin in Venice, Italy. Originally in Italy they make the scroppino with a whisk. Nowadays it is easier and quicker to use a blender.

Scroppino, ideal spoom for your menu

Because of the versatile taste of this Italian cocktail, it’s the ideal cocktail for a fancy dinner like Christmas or Thankgiving. You can serve the Scroppino as a aperitif or spoom or more like a dessert. You can also adjust the flavor to the rest of the courses you prepare. For example, combine the scroppino with strawberries or even limoncello. In both cases, very popular and loved by your guests!
